Gear Rental Office Hours
Office hours during the academic year are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the famed Harvard College Cage of Gear (HCCG) at 59 Shepard St., Cambridge, MA 02138 (down the stairs from the main entrance and at the end of the hall). Stop by to ask questions, become a HOC member, rent gear (free for members), and return rented gear! Email the gear managers with any questions. To rent gear you must be a HOC member with $20 dues good for 6 months. As for all of our operations, financial aid is available.
Please note we do not rent stoves, headlamps, or water bottles.
**Office hours during the summer are not on a regular schedule and will be announced weekly over the HOC email list.**
Gear Lists
Linked below are some sample gear lists. They’re pretty thorough, but they’re just meant as guidelines, and aren’t necessarily complete. Be sure to talk to your trip leader (or come in to office hours to chat with us if you’re planning your own trip) if you have any questions about appropriate gear.
